How we’re observing Labour Day at @company.name

Each Labour Day is a day to celebrate and honor the Canadian Labour Movement—and their efforts to secure fair, reasonable working conditions and expectations, including the fight for the eight-hour workday, which dates back to 1872.

Today, in honor of the continued contributions and efforts of Canada’s workforce, most businesses are closed—and many people spend Labour Day weekend at picnics, parties, and other gatherings with friends and family (including watching the Labour Day Classic, one of the Canadian Football League’s biggest tournaments).

How to prepare

In observance of Labour Day, our offices will be closed on September 2. Please make sure to turn on your out-of-office message before you leave for the long weekend—and let people know when you’ll be back and responding to messages.

Also, we appreciate you and all your hard work—so please enjoy your time off; it’s well deserved!
