How we’re observing Ramadan at @company.name

Ramadan is a holy month in the Muslim religion—when, according to Islamic tradition, God revealed the Quran, Islam’s Holy Book, to the prophet Muhammad. Held during the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, the month of Ramadan is observed by Muslims across India (and around the world) through a variety of devotional practices meant to foster a sense of control—most notably fasting. During the month of Ramadan, Muslim adults fast from sunrise to sunset, abstaining from both food and drink.

During Ramadan, Muslims break their fast with a post-sunset meal known as Iftar, with many hosting Iftar parties to feast on traditional foods with friends and family, both at the end of each day and at the end of Ramadan, which is typically the largest feast and gathering.
