We are incredibly sorry to hear of your loss and provide this information to help support you during this difficult time.

⚠️ Pyn note to HR: Update this message to include relevant information about your bereavement policy and any other support your employees have available to access.

Available support

We know each person is different and will need different support during this time. Our bereavement policy includes [ADD DETAILS HERE] and is a starting point that allows you and your manager to flexibly approach your leave.

You also have access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which is available 24/7 and provides counseling and legal services free of charge. If you have any questions regarding our bereavement policy and accompanying benefits, please reach out to the People Team.

During and after your leave

  • Your manager will prepare a brief communication to send out to affected co-workers and/or external parties about the length of your absence and who to contact in the meantime. They will share only as much information as you would like.
  • Your manager will ask if it is ok for coworkers to contact you to express condolences.
  • You and your manager will decide on the length of your leave and discuss if there are accommodations you might need upon your return. We aim to be as flexible and supportive as possible.
